CARSON : Baseball-Type Cards Feature Sheriff’s Deputies
- Share via
Members of the Carson sheriff’s station have begun handing out baseball-type cards that feature photos of various deputies under a city-funded program aimed at providing “local heroes” for elementary school children.
“This enables deputies to reach out to the community’s youth in a constructive way,” said Sheriff’s Department spokesman Pat Hauser.
Each card has a photo of a deputy from the Carson sheriff’s station, with a safety message and information about the deputy on the back. “Because baseball card collecting has been a popular hobby for many years, children can now collect cards of their local heroes,” Hauser said.
