Stuart Eizenstat to Be Named EC Ambassador

WASHINGTON — President Clinton will nominate Stuart E. Eizenstat, who was a top aide to former President Jimmy Carter, to be ambassador to the European Community in Brussels.
Eizenstat, 50, a Washington lawyer, was Carter’s chief domestic policy adviser from 1977 to 1981. He also served as a speech writer for President Lyndon B. Johnson and as research director for Hubert H. Humphrey’s 1968 presidential campaign.
