Argument Erupts in Gunfire; Man Hit
SANTA ANA — An argument between two groups of people erupted in gunfire, seriously wounding one person, police said Friday.
Jose Sosa, 28, was taken to UCI Medical Center in Orange after being shot in the chest at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, said Lt. Bob Helton.
Sosa was listed in serious but stable condition Friday morning, hospital spokeswoman Fran Tardiff said.
It might have started between two carloads of people, police said, as they were driving in the 1400 block of West 5th Street. Someone from the pickup truck in front might have tossed something at the following car, Helton said, and words were exchanged.
