A team of area high school all-stars will compete in the Orange County vs. L.A. County Summer Jam game starting at 7:30 p.m. Monday at the Bren Center.
Mater Dei’s Gary McKnight will coach the O.C. team, and Washington’s David Johnson will coach L.A.’s team, which will feature Lakewood Artesia’s Avondre Jones and Inglewood Morningside’s Stais Boseman, both of whom are headed for USC.
The O.C. team includes Mater Dei’s Marmet Williams, Terence Wilborn, David Drakeford, Chris Jackson, Kamran Sufi and Estancia’s Jim Faulkner, Ocean View’s Jim Harris, Sonora’s Chris St. Clair, Mission Viejo’s David Bayer, Capistrano Valley’s Eric Seiffert and Los Alamitos’ Steve Carbone.
“They may have us outnumbered,” McKnight said. “But this gives our kids an opportunity to play against some kids they haven’t played against. This may be more of a feature of talent than it is a game of basketball.”
