PDI-Western Sold: Phoenix Distributors, which sells gases for industrial uses, has sold its PDI-Western Distributing Group Inc. subsidiary to a large gas distributing company based in Wilmington, Del.
PDI-Western has 120 employees and annual sales of about $18 million, according to the buyer, Airgas Inc. Terms of the deal, which took effect Thursday, were not disclosed.
Airgas operates a network of 295 gas distributors in 35 states and Canada. It did not immediately disclose its plans for Anaheim-based PDI-Western or another Southland company it also bought, General Welding Supply Inc. in Gardena.
Phoenix Distributors, also based in Anaheim, plans to continue in the business of selling industrial gases.
