Nation IN BRIEF : ALABAMA : Wallace Asks Clinton to Probe Shooting

Ex-Gov. George C. Wallace of Alabama asked President Clinton to reopen the federal investigation into the assassination attempt 21 years ago that crippled Wallace and ended his presidential aspirations. Wallace, 73, said he doesn’t believe that Arthur Bremer, the man who shot him in a Laurel, Md., parking lot, was acting alone. A White House spokeswoman said that Clinton received the letter and “is taking it under advisement.”
