OXNARD : Councilman Plisky Is Named SCAG Member
Oxnard City Councilman Michael Plisky has been named to represent the cities of Oxnard, Camarillo and Port Hueneme on the Southern California Assn. of Governments.
Plisky was appointed recently to a two-year term on the regional body, which receives state and federal planning grants and distributes them among members. SCAG also reviews planning, transportation and housing issues.
He replaces former Councilwoman Geraldine Furr, who lost a reelection bid last November.
“I am looking forward to joining the other Ventura County representatives in taking positive steps toward improving the quality of life in Ventura County,” Plisky said.
Plisky will serve on SCAG’s administration standing committee, which sets policy for the regional body, and the community, economic and human development policy committee.
The Oxnard council veteran joins 69 city and county officials on the regional agency.
