Murdoch Negotiating for Stake in Honk Kong TV Company: Rupert Murdoch’s News Corp. said it is in the advanced stages of negotiating for a 22% stake in Television Broadcasts Ltd., Hong Kong’s leading TV broadcaster. TVB is planning to launch a Mandarin-language satellite TV channel to Taiwan and other Southeast Asian markets. The relationship could significantly expand Murdoch’s TV presence in a region poised for major growth. News Corp. already owns the Fox TV network in the United States and the BSkyB satellite service in the United Kingdom. News Corp. would acquire its stake from Shaw Brothers and Kerry Group.
