P.J. Jones set a lap record of 43.112 seconds to qualify for the pole position in Monday’s Lime Rock Grand Prix at Lakeville, Conn., while teammate Juan Fangio II placed second in qualifying.
Fangio, the defending champion, had a fast lap of 43.286 seconds and an average speed of 128.07 m.p.h. Derek Bell was third in qualifying with a fast lap of 46.679 seconds and average speed of 118.76 m.p.h.
