* * * “The Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert,” various artists, Buena Vista ($19.99). Plenty of exciting musical moments are scattered throughout this compilation from the 1992 tribute to the late Queen leader at Wembley Stadium near London. A Who’s Who of rock showed up, including Guns N’ Roses, Metallica, Def Leppard and Elton John--many performing Queen songs. Expect to be captivated by some of the priceless pairings, like David Bowie and Annie Lennox steaming through “Under Pressure” and Elton John and Axl Rose on “Bohemian Rhapsody.” But nothing tops Liza Minnelli’s showboating performance of “We Are the Champions.” Even the occasionally fuzzy visuals and a few ragged segments don’t really spoil the fun.
