Chapman Names Hegarty to Coach Women’s Basketball
ORANGE — Chapman University named Mary Hegarty, a former UCLA and Tustin High standout, as its women’s basketball coach, Chapman Athletic Director David Currey announced Friday.
Hegarty was an assistant at UCLA to Billie Moore for the last four seasons and has been a college assistant for nine years. Hegarty earned All-American honors as a freshman at UCLA.
Hegarty replaced Lindsay Strothers, who resigned March 23 after four seasons at Chapman. Chapman finished 2-23 last season.
