Cal Lutheran Is Rained Out

Persistent light rains forced the postponement of Cal Lutheran’s first-round baseball game against Ithaca in the NCAA Division III World Series on Thursday in Battle Creek, Mich.
The game will be played today at 2:30 p.m. PDT at Nichols Field. All four first-round games of the eight-team, double-elimination tournament were rained out.
The championship game is still scheduled for Tuesday.
Cal Lutheran (32-7), which lost in the World Series final last year, will stay with right-hander Jeff Berman (9-2, 1.48 earned-run average) as its starting pitcher and make no lineup changes as a result of the rainout.
