ENCINO : Man Who Scaled Pop Star’s Gate Charged

A 33-year-old man was charged Monday with trespassing for allegedly climbing the front gate of pop star Michael Jackson’s Encino estate.
Everedde McCrimnon of Los Angeles will be arraigned Wednesday on the single misdemeanor charge.
Prosecutors said McCrimnon was twice caught by private security guards and escorted from Jackson’s exclusive compound on May 1. He was arrested by police after a motorist told officers that he had seen a man scaling the front gate of the residence.
McCrimnon, who is free on $250 bail, had to be subdued during his arrest because he refused to obey commands from the officers and shouted obscenities, authorities said.
Several other people have been prosecuted for attempting to gain entrance to the Jackson property, but this is the first case in the past few years, according to Deputy City Atty. Laura Van Eyk.
