Clark, who already has proved himself as a hitter in the Orange Empire Conference, branched out last weekend in the Southern California playoffs.
Clark, the conference’s player of the year, hit .385 with 26 doubles, nine home runs and 53 RBIs in the regular season.
He added to those numbers by going nine for 15 as Cypress won two of three against Mt. San Antonio to advance. His raised his batting average to .401.
Clark scored five runs, drove in seven, had three doubles and a home run in the series. He has 29 doubles this season, a Cypress single-season record.
Other top performers:
* Mike McClintock of Golden West won the javelin throw (198 feet 8 inches) at the Southern California track and field finals Saturday.
* Darin Rabb of Orange Coast set the college’s record in the 1,500 meters with a time of 3 minutes 51.59 seconds Saturday in the Southern California finals.
