Joaquin Garcia Vargas; Pioneer Comic Actor in Mexican Films
Joaquin Garcia Vargas, 71, pioneer comic actor who appeared as Borolas in a series of Mexican movies. He was honored in 1991 by Mexico’s National Assn. of Actors for his five decades of acting. Vargas, in his familiar bowler hat and long, baggy coat, was best known for his slapstick routines as a happy-go-lucky guy who avoided work and mooched off his friends. He acted in radio and on television as well as in films. On Thursday in Mexico City of a heart attack.
