Serving Time: Howard Rollins, co-star of the long-running CBS series “In the Heat of the Night,” is serving a 70-day sentence stemming from traffic violations in Conyers, Ga., an Atlanta suburb near the town where the series is filmed. Rollins surrendered Thursday on a Rockdale County warrant for probation violation and failure to appear in court on charges he received in January for speeding and driving on a suspended license. He was on probation at the time for two drunken driving charges last fall.
