Krauthammer on Gay Rights

Like many good Americans, I’m so glad that we have had all this activity with gays and lesbians lately. With the decline of communism as a national enemy, I was wondering who we were going to replace them with. Now I know.
It seems as though we must, as a society, have an “evil enemy” on which to project our own internal rot so we can then feel good about ourselves.
How convenient it is to have gays and lesbians carry our darkness. This way we don’t have to face the utter poverty of our middle- and upper-class lifestyles.
