Tekelec, a Calabasas maker of telecommunications testing equipment, reported a large first-quarter loss on a sharp drop in revenue.
In the three months that ended March 31, Tekelec lost $3.33 million, while its revenue fell 20% to $11.2 million. The company earned $478,000 on $14 million in revenue in the comparable period in 1992.
The company attributed the lower results to a decline in orders from the domestic market.
