Brewery Calls ‘Time’ on a Stout Tradition

DUBLIN, Ireland — Guinness has called “Time, please” on its little fleet of boats, replacing one of Dublin’s most familiar features with container ships.
The boats have sailed the Irish Sea for 80 years, carrying Ireland’s national drink to Britain.
The cream and dark blue-painted Miranda Guinness and the Lady Patricia will sail down the River Liffey for the final time Friday.
Dublin seaman Tony McDonald said: “I can understand the move from an accountant’s point of view but not from a seaman’s.”
