JUDGES & ROBBERS: Superior Court Judge David O. Carter got a closer than usual look at a criminal suspect this week after witnessing a Santa Ana bank robbery. The former Marine and ex-prosecutor says he unwittingly held a place in line for the suspect at Union Bank--while the man wrote a note to a teller. After the robbery, Carter and another customer helped chase the suspect down and hold him for police. The judge, 49, credited the younger customer: “He tackled him; he got the guy. The younger generation did just fine.”
