TV AS TEACHER
Douglas Davis (“Who’s Afraid of the Big Bad Tube?” March 14) is quite correct in asserting that television can be a powerful educational tool when used properly.
But the tube is not being used in a wise manner. Kids today are besieged with an onslaught of media violence, and television plays its role as a pathogen of society’s paralysis in dealing with the spread of violence. Are daily doses of TV violence to become part of a child’s maturation and educational processes?
