Interview Brings Crowd to Concert in Laguna
- Share via
Three cheers to you and writer Benjamin Epstein for a crowd-drawing interview with Scott Pauley of the Carolinian Consort. (“Joyous Homecoming,” March 30). My phone rang with inquiries, the audience filled Laguna Presbyterian Church sanctuary (maybe 250 people comfortably spread throughout the main floor and the balcony), and it was a fascinating, musically rich evening.
Scott and the young women of the ensemble were (warmly! happily!) overwhelmed by their Orange County reception.
Prior to Laguna, the group had played at the E
arly Music Center in Berkeley, going on after Laguna to Pomona College and Stanford. Scott writes to me from London: “Of the four concerts we did, Laguna had by far the largest audience, and we all agreed that there was something very special that evening. There Lwas a really nice feeling between the group and the audience. The article in the L.A. Times was an unexpected bonus.”
Many thanks.
