LETTERS IN VIEW : Readers Distressed, Not Surprised by Teen Sex Scandal
- Share via
I’m bewildered about why the Lakewood High School “scoring drive” (“Get It if You Can,” March 25) has created such a firestorm as a “sex scandal” and has not been seen as the logical conclusion of decades of amoral public-school sex education.
The secular moral virtues of abstinence, monogamy, chastity and sex limited to within the beauty of marriage have somehow been dismissed as religious teachings, as seemingly arbitrary and baseless.
What kind of health classes produce children who consider having multiple, even dozens, of teen-age sex partners to be physically, morally and emotionally benign?
