Electro Rent Corp., a Van Nuys-based lessor of personal computers and electronic test equipment, said its fiscal third-quarter profit barely edged higher from a year earlier on a 3% dip in revenue.
In the quarter that ended Feb. 28, Electro Rent’s net income inched up to $2.10 million from $2.04 million a year earlier, while its revenue slipped to $25.1 million from $26 million.
The company said lower demand for its products from the aerospace and defense sectors contributed to the flat results.
For the first nine months of its fiscal year, Electro Rent’s profit was unchanged at $6.55 million, while its nine-month revenue fell 2%, to $75.7 million from $76.9 million.
