BY THE BOOK: National Library Week comes up April 18, so local librarians are gearing up with favorite stories. Here’s a heart-warmer from the Fullerton Public Library: A woman recently left a $100 bill in an envelope for reference librarian Joanne Hardy--with a note thanking Hardy for helping her get a job, through its Career Center. . . . The woman was unemployed and about to relocate to another state. “More than the money, the note meant a lot to all of us,” says library director Al Milo. “It shows us we can make a difference.”
