PACOIMA : Woman Killed, Husband Injured
A Pacoima woman died after she was allegedly stabbed by her husband, authorities said Thursday.
Maria Munoz, who was in her mid-20s, died of stab wounds to the chest shortly after officers arrived at the house on the 13000 block of Glamis Street in Pacoima at 10:30 p.m. Wednesday, Los Angeles police said.
Officers found the woman’s estranged 21-year-old husband, Mariano Munoz, in the house, Detective Mike Oppelt said. He was also suffering from stab wounds, and police could not determine if the wounds were self-inflicted or were received in the dispute. Several knives were found at the house, he said.
Maria Munoz, who also had been hit with a blunt object, was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. Mariano Munoz was transported to Holy Cross Medical Center, where he was in stable condition.
