Santa Monica : Music Program Showcased

While other school districts have scaled back or eliminated music electives, the Santa Monica-Malibu Unified School District continues to support a highly regarded music program.
The program will be showcased in the annual “Stairway of the Stars” concerts next week. The concerts will be at 7 p.m. April 15 and 16 at the Santa Monica Civic Auditorium. Tickets are $5 for the Thursday performance, $7 for the Friday performance.
The theme of this year’s concert is “Music: A Passport to the World.” The award-winning high school symphony orchestra and the all-district honors orchestra and choir will perform selections from Mexico, England, the United States and Latin America.
