Reducing U.S. Deficit
President Clinton could easily make hundreds of billions of dollars in profit with which the federal deficit could drastically be reduced.
How? First by selling a portion of the vast federal landholdings in the western states.
Second, by selling much of the federal public corporations, e.g., the Tennessee Valley Authority utilities.
And thirdly, by selling and/or the privatizing of many federal services. Of course the state of California could engage in analogous activities to balance the budget.
