Should Education Lead to a Job?
“Teaching Kids to Think for Themselves” (Feb. 15) was a shocker. The statement “Indeed, democracy-in-education theorists meld education, political and social reform into a single seamless unit” sounds very much like blatant political-correctness brainwashing of our young people.
If there is any doubt about that, a further statement berates “the “legislated-excellence” drive of the past few years.
When will the educational elitists realize that the reason that a drive for excellence had to be legislated was because the educational Establishment refuses to recognize what its primary function should be. This must include educating children to allow them to get a job and support themselves.
