A $10,200 reward has been offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the man who sexually molested an 11-year-old Alhambra girl as the child was leaving school Feb. 4.
The attack occurred about four blocks from Marguerita Elementary School when a male pedestrian grabbed the child, took her to a nearby yard and raped her, then fled when someone approached, school officials said.
The man was described as a balding, heavyset Anglo or light-complexioned Latino, between 18 and 22 years old, 5 feet 10 inches tall and wearing dark clothing.
The Alhambra School District is offering $5,000 to be matched by county funds from Los Angeles County Supervisor Michael Antonovich. A local parent-teacher association has added $200 to the reward.
