Servite Held to 13 First-Half Points in 75-52 Loss to Inglewood Morningside
INGLEWOOD — Servite scored only 13 points in the first half and four in the first quarter fell to Inglewood Morningside, 75-52, Friday in the first round of the Division III-AA playoffs at Morningside High School.
“It was frustrating to watch,” said Servite Coach Scott Hamilton, who saw his team end the year 11-15. “But give Morningside credit; they are a great team and are well-coached.”
Servite was led by center Christian Vallas, who was the high scorer with 16 points. Morningside’s Dominic Ellison was the leading point producer with 14 points for the Monarchs (24-4).
The Friars scored only four points in the first quarter.
Asked if Estancia had any chance to beat Morningside next week, Hamilton said, “I seriously don’t think so. Morningside is definitely going to win the section championship.”
