The family of a traveling evangelist was robbed in its motor home in a Ventura church parking lot when a gunman came to the door, police said.
About 8:45 p.m. Thursday, the robber forced his way into the trailer parked outside the College Heights Baptist Church on Telephone Road, said Ruth Larring, 39, who was inside with her sons, John, 18, and David, 16, all of Chula Vista.
The intruder, wearing a scarf over his face, took $60 and a telephone, she said.
Larring said her husband, John, a traveling preacher who was working at the church, was not in the trailer during the robbery.
There are no suspects, police said.
