LAGUNA HILLS : Robbers Get $900 at Cellular Phone Store
- Share via
Four men robbed a cellular phone store just before its closing Wednesday night, making off with several pagers and about $900 in cash, authorities said.
“They came in at closing time,” around 7 p.m., said Wayne Yau, manager of the Beeper Cellular Trading Store in the 24000 block of Avenida de la Carlota. “As one of my employees was closing the door and pulling the gates together, they just pushed through.”
Sheriff’s deputies said one man brandished a handgun while another grabbed the 20-year-old employee in a chokehold and shoved him into the store’s restroom.
The robbers grabbed money from the cash register and snatched an unknown number of pagers before fleeing the store.
