Boop Boop de Doop: MGM and the Zanuck Co. are going to bring the legendary cartoon character Betty Boop to the screen as a full-length animated feature. In the storyline, the saucer-eyed flapper and her pals Koko and Bimbo head for Hollywood in search of fame and fortune. The project is the first foray into feature animation for Academy Award-winning produces Richard D. Zanuck and Lili Fini Zanuck. Jerry Rees (“The Brave Little Toaster”) will write the script, based on the character originally created by animation pioneer Max Fleischer.
