Compton : Superintendent Clarifies Where He Got Doctorate
- Share via
The acting head of the Compton Unified School District has corrected a district news release indicating that he received a doctorate in education from USC.
Acting Supt. Harold Cebrun said he received a doctorate in education in 1983 from Columbia Pacific University in San Rafael, Calif. He added that he enrolled in graduate courses at USC but did not complete a degree there.
Cebrun said he decided to clarify the matter after rumors began circulating in the district that he had lied about where he had received his doctorate.
The incorrect information was part of a biography of Cebrun issued by the district just after he became acting superintendent in December. Cebrun said the information about his doctorate has been listed correctly on his resume.
