A Dream Come True: Sir Georg Solti, who at 80 is currently on an American tour conducting the Vienna Philharmonic, announced Wednesday that he will lead a professional training workshop for young musicians at Carnegie Hall in June of 1994. The plan is for 80 orchestral instrumentalists, ages 18 to 28, to work for two weeks in an orchestra with 15 first-chair players from orchestras in Boston, Chicago, Cleveland, Philadelphia and Los Angeles. Solti called the project “a dream of mine,” and said, “if we are lucky and do it really the very best, it could be an absolute sensation.”
