New Title: Ending speculation he would be lured by another label, hotshot country music executive and record producer Tony Brown has been promoted to president, MCA Records/Nashville. In his previous position as executive vice president and head of artists and repertoire for the label, Brown, 45, signed such admired artists as Lyle Lovett and Trisha Yearwood. He also produced albums by Wynonna Judd and Vince Gill, among others.
