Santa Monica : Tax Classes for Volunteers
Volunteer Income Tax Assistance, Tax Counseling for the Elderly and the IRS are all seeking volunteers to help prepare 1992 federal and state income tax returns for low-income, elderly, non-English-speaking and disabled taxpayers.
The volunteers will be taught how to prepare basic federal and state income tax returns in classes conducted on five consecutive Saturdays beginning Jan. 9 at Santa Monica College, 1900 Pico Blvd., Santa Monica. The classes will meet from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Room 251 of the Business Building.
In return for the training, volunteers will be required to provide approximately 20 hours of tax return preparation time during the filing season at one of seven Volunteer Income Tax Assistance sites on the Westside.
