Industrial Output Declines While Inflation Rises: Japan’s industrial output declined 1.9% month-to-month in November and 8.0% compared to the year before, the Ministry of International Trade and Industry announced. Meanwhile, the Tokyo-area consumer price index, the most widely watched measure of inflation in Japan, rose 0.9% in December from December, 1991, Japan’s Management and Coordination Agency said.
