California Amplifier Inc. said its fiscal third-quarter profit rose 31% from a year earlier on a 69% jump in sales.
The Camarillo-based maker of telecommunications equipment said net income in the quarter ended Nov. 28 climbed to $618,000 from $471,000 a year earlier, while its sales rose to $8.77 million from $5.2 million.
The latest earnings would have been higher except for one-time costs related to a two-week production shutdown in which California Amplifier installed a new computer system, the company said.
For the first nine months of its fiscal year, the company’s profit more than doubled from a year earlier, to $2.21 million from $954,000, and its nine-month sales surged 85%, to $25.4 million from $13.8 million.
