Skunk Work’s New Headquarters to Be Dedicated: Movers were packing the office equipment and memorabilia at Lockheed’s famous Skunk Works in Burbank, preparing for the company’s official dedication of its new headquarters in Palmdale today. Skunk Works President Sherm Mullin, whose office was cluttered with cardboard boxes on his last day in Burbank, said the move will help give the top-secret operation the world’s most modern aircraft factory. But the relocation will also substantially shrink facilities. By 1994, the Skunk Works will have 3.1 million square feet, compared to 4.1 million now and 10 million in 1989.
