PLATFORM : It Was Showboating

This was all show time. It reminded me of a scene from “Dances With Wolves,” when Kevin Costner danced around the fire with the Indians. Do you really think all these people should be giving advice to Clinton? What advice could they possibly give him?
I don’t have a problem with an economic conference, but there must be substance. You can’t have that many people--on TV no less--giving the President-elect economic advice. There can’t possibly be any substance to something like that. Now, with that said, I believe that if Bill Clinton can stick to the substance of the issues and not put on these shows, he has a good chance of doing a good job.
As far as his economic advisers--Laura D’Andrea Tyson is not espousing things that I believe will make this nation stronger economically. She’s anti-free trade and advocates higher taxes. But on the other hand, there is Robert Rubin who’s good and Lloyd Bentsen who’s very good. And I’m quite a fan of Robert Reich.
