Ethics Complaint on Packwood Signed
WASHINGTON — A Philadelphia woman has signed a formal ethics complaint, accusing Sen. Bob Packwood (R-Ore.) of unwanted sexual advances when she applied for a staff job in 1976.
Jean McMahon said Packwood lured her to an Oregon hotel room on the pretext of discussing a sample speech and then “chased me around the table . . . grabbed me and kissed me against my will.”
The sworn complaint was provided Monday to the Associated Press by McMahon’s attorney, Leslie Roberts of Portland, Ore. Roberts said she was forwarding the complaint to the Senate Ethics Committee.
