ED’S STUDENTS: Ed Asner will be at Chapman University next month filming a TV series called “Higher Education.” But you won’t see it on your home tube. Students from Chapman’s film and TV department will write, direct and act in the series, which will be shown only on campus and at festivals. . . . So how did they snare Asner, who is donating his time? “He’s just a tremendously generous person,” says Pamela Ezell, one of the professors involved. Also, Asner’s a friend of hers.
