Brothers on Bike Hit by Car, Injured
HUNTINGTON BEACH — Two brothers were flown by helicopter to UCI Medical Center after being hit by a car Monday afternoon while bicycling on Newland Street, police said.
Jeffrey Sesma, 12, was listed in stable condition Monday evening after being treated for head injuries, said Nancy Rhomberg, the hospital’s clinical coordinator. His brother, Gregory, 14, was treated for cuts and bruises.
The brothers were riding in the bike lane but on the wrong side of Newland Street about 2:40 p.m. near the intersection of Deepview Drive when they were hit, police said.
The driver was not cited.
