Several Airlines to Offer Weekend Bargains: Northwest Airlines said it plans bargain weekend fares priced at or near its current 14-day advance-purchase “super-saver” fares. America West, Continental, Delta, United and USAir said they will match the fares in competing markets and Trans World Airlines said it will match in all markets. The new fares can be purchased up to three days in advance for a stay of no more than four days, including a Saturday night. Under the new structure, a round-trip ticket between New York and Los Angeles will be $500.
