On Guard: “The Bodyguard” soundtrack album sold an estimated 410,000 units last week and will continue in the No. 1 position on Billboard’s pop album sales chart when the trade magazine hits the newsstands Saturday. That makes the Whitney Houston-heavy collection the fourth-highest weekly seller since Billboard switched to a computerized sales tabulation system in May, 1991. Guns N’ Roses “Use Your Illusion II” still holds the record, selling 770,000 units in one week in September, 1991. Four Christmas albums--including collections by Amy Grant and Neil Diamond--were also Top 10 sellers last week, contributing to the more than 15 million albums sold by U.S. retailers.
