GAZA CITY, Israeli Occupied Gaza Strip — Israeli soldiers shot dead a Palestinian in the Gaza Strip on Tuesday while most of the area’s 750,000 people were confined by Israel to their homes, an army spokesman said.
The army imposed a curfew and sealed off the strip Monday after Muslim fundamentalists opposed to Israeli-Arab peace talks gunned down three Israeli soldiers to mark the fifth anniversary of a Palestinian revolt against Israeli rule.
The army spokesman said Tuesday that the Palestinian had attacked a border patrol and lobbed a gasoline bomb when they gave chase.
Palestinian sources said the victim was 15 years old and was shot for breaking the curfew.
