Support for Aspen: Singer John Denver has fired off some barbs at the celebrities who have called for a boycott of Aspen, Colo., his hometown. “I was disappointed,” he said of Colorado’s anti-gay-rights initiative that narrowly passed last month. “(But) what bothered me was a bunch of people from Hollywood who come here for a week, and have no sense of what Aspen is about as a community, to have the gall to judge us. That was a drag.” Denver made his statements in Washington, where he was scheduled to perform at Tuesday’s ’92 Earth Prize Awards ceremony at the Kennedy Center.
