USA Bites Back: Entertainment editors at USA Today, angered by a critical letter from Roseanne Arnold that attacked the paper’s television critic, informed Arnold’s publicist Monday that they would no longer work with his company on stories involving his clients. The indefinite ban escalates an already-heated war of words between Arnold and the paper. The editors said the letter written by Arnold was a “personal, ugly and obscene” attack on critic Matt Roush in response to his review of “The Jackie Thomas Show,” which stars Roseanne’s husband, Tom. The letter was sent over machines belonging to the Brokaw Co., which, in addition to handling the Arnolds, also represents Bill Cosby, Lou Rawls, Reba McEntire, Lindsay Wagner and several other stars.
